California Proposition 65

What is Proposition 65?

California’s Proposition 65 (formally the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) requires businesses to provide warnings if a product may expose consumers to certain chemicals that the State of California has identified as potentially causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

Why is there a warning on our products?

Some of our products are made with galvanized steel. Galvanization is a standard industry process that uses zinc to protect steel from rust and corrosion. Because trace amounts of chemicals from this process are on California’s Proposition 65 list, we are required to provide this warning.

How does this affect you?

The presence of a Proposition 65 warning does not mean a product is unsafe. It simply means we are complying with California’s strict labeling requirements, which are often more conservative than federal and international standards.

If you already have a chain link fence, you already have the same types of materials and protective coatings. Our galvanized steel barriers use the very same process, so the materials you’ll find in our products are nothing new or unusual in everyday environments.

Our commitment

We are fully compliant with Proposition 65 requirements and want to be transparent with our customers. You can feel confident knowing our products are designed for durability, safety, and long-lasting performance.
